16 may 2010 – phil and I spent a couple of days constructing the ‘rota-loo’ composting toilet building, set in the forest about 50 metres away from the hut site…

we set and levelled four sandstone footings to elevate the steel frame from the forest floor…

then spent a lot of time and effort man-handling the heavy steel frame into position…

next, we fixed the variously sized pre-cut plywood panels into the frame, in preparation for installation of the loo components…

after two days work, the building is almost complete – dubbed “alan, the midnight thunderbox” (alan, in reference to the hilarious black-blob anarchist from modern toss – a ‘little shit’ if ever there was one!)…

we’ll be returning to add the vent pipes, the guttering and rainwater tank, and shelving…
